Cricket Development

The LCCC Foundation delivers a range of projects and programmes and events that help develop the game of cricket across the North West. By partnering with Lancashire Cricket Board we are able to increase participation rates, develop and support playing opportunities and encourage a new audience to take an interest in the sport.

LCCC Foundation supports local clubs with Donation of Cricket Bats

The LCCC Foundation, the charity and community arm of LCCC, has for another year donated cricket bats to  28 local community cricket clubs with a total of 224 junior cricket bats to help support the establishment / development of junior age group cricket throughout the 2016 season.

The brand new cricket bats were donated to community cricket clubs from across the whole of Lancashire and the initiative was developed so clubs could upgrade their stock of training equipment and / or be passed onto individuals who would otherwise struggle to purchase their own equipment.

Sandy Mitchell, Head of Community Development for the LCCC Foundation said “We are delighted to be working with the Lancashire Cricket Board to provide bats to local cricket clubs that will help to support their junior provision. Cricket bats are expensive bits of kit and anything we can do to help remove that barrier and encourage more young people to take up or stick with the sport is truly worth doing”.

Bobby Denning, Managing Director for the Lancashire Cricket Board said “This is a great initiative for our recreational clubs. The more equipment our junior sections have, the more opportunity our clubs have to recruit, retain and develop our future players. I would like to thank our colleagues in the Foundation for bringing such an appealing offer to our community clubs”.
